Ruhunu Diving Center was founded over 15 years ago with a clear mission to provide safe, professional, and high-quality PADI scuba diving in Tangalle(PADI Dive Center – S30403), Sri Lanka. What began as a small local dive operation has grown into a trusted PADI-certified diving center, known for strict safety standards, personalized training, and expert local knowledge of the southern coastline. Over the years, we have trained and guided thousands of divers, from first-time beginners to advanced explorers, while maintaining a strong commitment to responsible diving and marine conservation. Today, Ruhunu Diving Center continues to set the standard for scuba diving, PADI courses, and guided dives in Tangalle.

The best time to dive

Diving in Sri Lanka is divided into two main seasons based on the monsoon patterns. Accordingly, Ruhunu diving center operates for half of the year in Tangalle on the south coast, with the diving season running from October to May.

When to dive in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka offers excellent diving conditions throughout the year. February to November is the best time to dive the north-east coast, including Trincomalee, with calm seas and clear visibility. October to April is the high season for diving along the west and south-west coasts, including Tangalle and surrounding areas. With incredible underwater life, warm waters, friendly locals, delicious food, and stunning attractions above and below the surface, Sri Lanka is a perfect year-round diving destination.

Our dive sites in Nilwella and the surrounding areas offer a rich and memorable underwater experience. From the Nilwella Wreck and colorful coral reefs to the unique Underwater Museum, each site reveals stunning marine life and natural beauty.
